Graduate Program in Social Psychology at the State University of Rio de Janeiro
Liaisons in human and social sciences: Contemporary human rights challenges in Latin America and Europe
PPGPS has a long track record of research and extension in the human rights field, with impact on public policies. This project brings together professors and students who develop works on migration, identity, family, gender, prison, sexual and reproductive rights, intersecting with several aspects of psychological distress and alternatives of intervention. In the three research lines of the program, it is possible to identify professors who, based on their commitment to social psychology, sought and seek theoretical frameworks that can substantiate these discussions, especially at a political moment of serious threat to democracy in Brazil and in many countries in Europe and Latin America.
Through the topic “Liaisons in human and social sciences: Contemporary human rights challenges in Latin America and Europe”, the project aims to train professors and students abroad, carry out work missions abroad and in Brazil, expand the international scientific publication of PPGPS, develop comparative research, and renew and strengthen research partnerships, contributing to the internationalization of PPGPS and UERJ.
